On September 9, 2019, SLF filed a class action complaint on behalf of a group of healthcare professionals, including nurses, working for Soliant Health, Inc. The lawsuit alleges that the staffing agency fails to properly compensate its employees for time spent in orientation/training that is specific to their assigned facility, and which does not advance their job skills or careers. Additionally, the lawsuit contends that Soliant unlawfully excludes the travel stipends its pays to its employees working assignments away from home from their regular rates of pay that results in lower overtime payments to them. Moreover, the lawsuit claims that Soliant does not provide premium pay to employees who miss their meal or rest breaks, as required under California law.
